Chief Financial Officer

Ronnie Fernando is the Chief Financial Officer of LA Promise Fund. His goal while at LAPF is to ensure that every dollar spent on LAPF educational programming is equitable.

Before his role with LAPF, Fernando served as Chief Operating and Finance Officer for an Independent Non-Profit School in West Hollywood, CA. He has a background in Finance, Operations, as well as Marketing.

Fernando received a B.S. in Business Administration from Adams State University’s School of Business and his Masters in Business Administration at Concordia University Irvine’s School of Business and Economics.

Outside of his professional work career, Fernando played professional lacrosse for 7 years while being a part of 2 Major League Lacrosse Championship Teams. He is also an active participant in mental health advocacy, cultivating and engaging in dialogue with students/athletes as they face challenges with panic, anxiety, and depression.

His favorite books include writings from Alan Watts, Phillip K. Dick, and the Bhagavad Gita. Fernando’s hobbies include cooking/eating new foods and exploring philosophy & theosophical ideas.

Fernando believes that education should not simply be about exploring how “things ought to be done”, but rather focus on individual exploration of self, how one impacts the world, and how to use life lessons to build a better world.
