Cathy Bender

Cathy Bender is currently with Amazon Web Services. Before joining Amazon, Bender was the Vice President for Microsoft’s Enterprise Commercial Southwest region, responsible for leading a team of 210 Enterprise Commercial members. In this role, she is responsible for business transformation, enterprise sales, customer satisfaction, services and partner efforts across Southern California, HI, AZ, NV, NM, UT and CO.
Prior to this role, Bender was the General Manager for Southern California and was responsible for Microsoft’s sales, services and partner efforts for $360+ million in revenue.
Bender’s tenure at Microsoft began in 2005 when she held various Sales Leadership roles across Northern and Southern California. Her experience includes managing large teams spanning Mid-Market, Enterprise, Partners, Incubation and Global Accounts. Bender was the recipient of the coveted Circle of Excellence Award in 2015. She is also a member of the Senior Leader Bench program for high potential talent.
Before joining Microsoft, Bender was the Vice President of World Wide Sales at Genesys Telecommunications. In this role, she was responsible for building a global Inside and Field-based selling organization. Bender has extensive experience interfacing with customers at all levels and enjoys helping her customers transform and making an impact on their business.
Bender has a Bachelor’s of Science from Western Michigan University and currently resides in Southern California.
