Carla Yorke, she/her

Chief Program Officer

Carla Yorke is the Chief Program Officer for LA Promise Fund and oversees the organization’s student, family, college, and career readiness programs. She joined LAPF in December 2021.

Carla’s work has always focused on creating and implementing programs for middle school, high school, and college students. For 15 years, Carla worked at Cerritos College, developing, and implementing various grant-funded programs, while strengthening the partnership between the College and K12 school districts. Carla served as Dual Enrollment Manager where she started an Early College program in which allowed high school students earned up to 45 college credits before graduation.

Carla also worked as a staff member for Los Angeles County Supervisor Don Knabe Office for 5 years, where she contributed to policy development, constituent concerns, and grant programs.

Carla holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Entrepreneurial Studies from the University of Southern California (USC), and a Master of Science in Education from USC. A Los Angeles native, Carla enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to different countries, and mentoring young people.

One of her favorite quotes is from her mom, “No one can ever take your education away from you”.
