South LA NSI

South LA Network for School Improvement

The South LA Network for School Improvement (NSI) is a partnership of schools located in South LA that uses a continuous improvement model to increase the number of Black, Latinx and low-income 9th-grade students prepared for college.

Third–party survey results (October 2021) for South LA NSI participants:

  • 100% response rate
  • 91% believed the work is making a difference for the students they serve
  • 99% agreed their team is learning about how to improve the number of Freshman who are college-ready
  • on-track with a “B” or better in all coursework
  • 93% believed they have greater access to research-based best practices through the network
  • 80% believed engaging in Continuous Improvement Protocols & Tools will help increase the percentage of Black and Latinx students graduating high school college-ready
  • 95% believed participating in the South LA NSI is worth the time it takes
