Our South LA Response to COVID-19

What can we do for
South LA families?

As of mid-March 2020, hundreds of thousands of students across LA County are not attending school. For our South LA families, parents are faced with a dizzying number of questions:

  • How will my child keep learning while school is closed?
  • How will my child stay safe while I’m at work?
  • How will I keep feeding my family if my job is eliminated?

The LA Promise Fund is committed to equity. And we do this with your support. In times like these, our commitment to our students and their families extends beyond the classroom.

While we are working to equip families with computers so their students can keep learning, we are also working double time to staff our Food Pantry and provide grab-and-go meals for our students at LA Promise Charter Middle and
High School.

If you are able to join us in this effort, we would be grateful.

We are in need of donations

  • To purchase food, water, and hygiene essentials
  • To service our students’ remote learning needs with computers and Wi-Fi
  • To support families who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19 business closures

If you have questions regarding making a donation, please email our Development team at development@lapromisefund.org

I am grateful to all of you – and to our staff – for uniting and supporting our community, so that we can ALL get through this healthy and safe. #LAStrong

Thank you for your support,
