Director for Pathway Improvement
Leslie Aaronson is the Director for Pathway Improvement where she manages the Strong Workforce grant from the state to create comprehensive career academies in high schools in South Los Angeles.
Aaronson joined LAPF in 2016 as the co-Manager for Girls Build. Prior to that she was the Lead Teacher and Coordinator of Foshay Learning Center’s Technology Academy where she was awarded Teacher of the Year by LAUSD for her work. Aaronson sits on the advisory board for CS Ed Week, SciGirls Code, the Computer Science Department of El Camino College, and the California Joint Special Populations Advisory Committee (JSPAC). Prior to teaching, Aaronson was the Production Manager for Blue’s Clues International at Nickelodeon.
Aaronson holds two Career Technical Education Credentials in Information Communication and Technology and Arts, Media and Entertainment, plus a Single Subject Credential in English and an Administrative Credential. She has a masters degree from New York University in Education, Communication and Technology and a BA from Washington University in St. Louis in Anthropology.
Aaronson is passionate about equity and access for all in education. Her philosophy for student success is to make it matter, and build student confidence and school community.
