Associate Director of Career Pathway Connections
Kevin Doyel is passionate about working alongside educators as they progressively guide our amazing South Los Angeles High School students on their path from high school to college to career.
Mr. Doyel joined LA Promise Fund in 2019, after a long drive across the country from Queens, NYC, in a minivan with his amazing partner and their 2 cats!
After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State Fullerton (a long time ago), he chased the Hollywood Dream which led him to New York City, where he changed careers and earned his Master’s Degree from The City University of New York – Hunter College in Education.
Mr. Doyel has taught all grade levels of elementary school in Prince George’s County – Maryland, Fairfax County – Virginia. He also served as Director of Education Programs for Manhattan Youth, where he designed and directed after-school educational and recreational programming with NYC Middle Schools.
“I have seen the inequities of the education system in America from both sides of the country, places where nothing is available and places where the abundance of resources are astonishing and most often – unused. We cannot allow our students to not see themselves in their world and I am committed to opening doors and opportunities for students who are unrepresented, mis-represented, and marginalized by a system intending to do so.” – Mr. Doyel
