Black College Success Initiative Academic Advisor

Jasmine Evans is an Academic Advisor for the Black College Success Initiative. In addition to inspiring and empowering students, she serves to make sure that BCSI students receive information, resources, and support that prepares them for college and ultimately their careers.

Prior to joining LAPF in October 2021, Evans worked as an Outreach and Recruitment Specialist at Long Beach City College where she worked with K-12 schools, students, parents, and community organizations to promote access to college programs and student support services.

Evans received her bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a focus in Inequality and Diversity from California State University, Los Angeles. Throughout her college career, she worked as an AVID tutor in Lynwood, CA where she assisted and tutored students on a variety of academic subjects with the objective of preparing students for entrance to colleges and universities.

Evan’s favorite books are the Nancy Drew series, and the Little House on the Prairie series. Her favorite hobby is going to concerts and binge-watching the latest Netflix show.
