Celebrating Our Students’ Successes

It’s with great pride that I share with you the academic results of the LA Promise Fund partner and charter schools:

91% of Manual Arts High School seniors graduated, 9 percentage points higher than last year. 90% of Manual Arts seniors were accepted to college.
West Adams showed similarly strong results, with 83% of its seniors graduating, 5 percentage points above last year, and 82% accepted to college.
John Muir students outperformed neighborhood schools on the SBAC (Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium – California’s standardized test) English Language Arts test by almost twofold, and on the Math test by a factor of 4.
In its first year of operation, LA Promise Charter Middle School #1 outperformed similar neighborhood schools on the SBAC English Language Arts test by more than twofold, and on the Math test by more than a factor of 4.

Our students are leaving our schools to attend some pretty impressive colleges and universities – we have seniors headed to Dartmouth, Harvard, Stanford, UC Berkeley, USC, and UCLA, among others.

These results are the fruits of the labors of our students, teachers, principals, staff, and parents. I am grateful to their hard work, persistence, and commitment to excellence, and I look forward to continuing to improve our results.

To a successful year ahead,
