Secondary Education Policy Coordinator
Sabrina Johnson conducts extensive research and collects data on college access and opportunities for our youth. She also supports many other departments across the organization. Johnson, an Americorps Vista, joined the LA Promise Fund in October 2017.
Prior to falling in love with education policy, Johnson worked as an assistant branch rental manager at a rental car company, where she trained and developed employees and increased corporate partnerships through marketing and relationship building. Most recently, Johnson’s passion led her to a year of service as an AmeriCorps member, serving as the Education Outreach Coordinator at the Department of Records in NYC. In that role, she launched a pilot program for 12 at risk students, where they were able to use the municipal archives to assess gentrification in their communities.
Johnson’s commitment to being a change agent in communities drives her to acquire knowledge in every aspect by learning from others. She holds a Masters degree in Public Administration from Long Island University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from SUNY Canton.
Some of her major accomplishments include being an AmeriCorps, receiving the Dean’s Excellence award of Public Administration (2016), and being a member of Pi, Alpha, Alpha (Global national honor society 2016).
Her favorite book is The Little Black Book of Success: Laws of Leadership for Black Women. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, writing, and taking on challenges.
