Rosa Pastor

College Outreach Coordinator

Rosa Pastor is the College Outreach Coordinator at Manual Arts High School. Pastor supports the Associate Director of College Access and the school College Counselor by organizing college visits and promoting volunteer and scholarship opportunities in an effort to support students on their pathway to higher education.

Pastor  joined LA Promise Fund in August 2016. Before LA Promise Fund, she served as an After School Leader at KIPP Academy of Innovation, and prior to that, as a City Year AmeriCorps member, serving students in South Central LA and providing them with academic and socio-emotional support.

Pastor attended Dickinson College, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics. At Dickinson College, she served as an ally to the Muslim Student Association and collaborated with multicultural clubs to raise awareness about the Muslim community.

Pastor believes that every student is capable of being successful as long as they have a nurturing environment that supports their needs. What drives Pastor is her desire to see more students of color attend and graduate from college, and be successful.

During her free time, Pastor plays the alto saxophone in a Tamborazo band. She also enjoys hiking, dancing, and spending time with friends and family.
