Community Partnership Coordinator
Janice Herbert works collaboratively with teachers and after-school site coordinators to support, develop, and implement new after-school programs at all LA Promise Fund network schools.
Herbert joined the LA Promise Fund in August 2016. Prior to joining the LAPF family, Herbert worked at her alma mater, Fairfield University, as the Program Coordinator for the Office of Student Diversity & Multicultural Affairs. In this role, she oversaw a mentoring program for first year/first generation college students and provided academic advising to a small cohort of students. In addition, she provided programming support for cultural heritage months and AHANA/affinity student groups.
Herbert holds a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Black Studies & Women, Gender & Sexuality students from Fairfield University. Her senior thesis focused on The Mental Health of Women of Color at Predominately White Institutions.
Her favorite books are the Harry Potter Series, and murder/mystery books. Her favorite hobby is dancing hip-hop and Latin dance as stress relievers.
