go for college 2

Go for College is grounded in the belief that all students should be prepared for and informed to make a strong and personal choice about pursuing higher education. Go for College exposes students at our Partner and Charter Schools to an array of two- and four-year, public and private colleges and universities. LA Promise Fund college professionals work daily with each campus’ college counselor to navigate students through the college research and selection process, preparing them to meet the requirement of applying to at least one college or university before graduation. From college trips for every 9th grader to college counselor training for teachers to dual enrollment classes with middle and high school students taking community college classes, Go for College creates a school-wide culture where college prep is the norm and every student has equal access to higher education. Through events such as an annual college fair and the incorporation of student College Ambassadors, students and families receive the necessary support to complete the college admission and financial aid process.

Blended Learning 2

21st Century Learning mixes different learning modalities within each curriculum, combining traditional face-to-face classroom methods with technology based activities, allowing both students and teachers more time for direct instruction, more specific use of group instruction, and a more customized curricular experience for students learning at varying levels and pace. LA Promise Fund is implementing 21st Century Learning opportunities across its campuses through promoting greater access to and effective use of technology for teachers, students and families. Examples include incorporating technology into its Linked Learning program, for example courses in computer studies taught within Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) career-themed educational tracks, and by providing supplemental training for parents and coding classes for students.
