Austin Beutner is the former First Deputy Mayor of Los Angeles. At age 29, he became the youngest partner at The Blackstone Group. At 33, he served in the U.S. government under President Bill Clinton where he led a team that helped Russia transition to a market economy after the collapse of the Soviet Union. He went on to found Evercore Partners, and as President and Co-CEO built the firm into a global leader.
Beutner is involved in the community, serving as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of CalArts, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Broad Stage, Chairman of the Governor’s Council on Physical Fitness & Sports and Co-Chairman of the CalArts Community Arts Partnership. He is also Chairman of the Mammoth Mountain Community Foundation, which he founded. Additionally, he serves on the Boards of Directors of ACT Today! and ICEF Public Schools, and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He recently created Vision To Learn, a program which provides free glasses to kids in Los Angeles schools.
